The credit for the resounding success of Expert Coaching Classes goes to the vision of its Chairman Prof. Narendra L Nayak.

Prof. Nayak was born on 9th June 1964. A mechanical engineer by qualification, he has also successfully completed ICWA (Intermediate). Beginning his career as a lecturer at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal (formerly Karnataka Regional Engineering College, Surathkal), for about 2 years, he started Expert Coaching Classes in a small way in December 1986. Now this institution has grown to be the best in the entire state of Karnataka.
    
As a diligent teacher, Prof. Nayak takes a keen interest in the welfare of his students. (Prior to admission, he personally interviews and counsels every student along with parents to assess the candidate's aptitude and capabilities, and recommend the suitable batch to the students).

Prof. Nayak was conferred with "Excellence in Education Award" in 2005 by The Indian Economic Research and Development Association, New Delhi for the excellence in the field of education.

He was also conferred with "Bharath Gaurav Award" in 2006 by All India Business and Community Foundation, New Delhi for the Excellence in Social and Community Development.

Prof. Nayak is an excellent musician since his childhood. He is the vice president of a Hindustani Classical music organization, "Sangeet Bharati Foundation". Under his guidance top level programmes have already been conducted in Mangalore including performances by legends like Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pt. Shivkumar Sharma, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Pt. Vishwamohan Bhatt, Ustad Rashid Khan, Ustad Sultan Khan, Ghazal singer Hariharan and many more. Being a graded artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan in Hindustani Classical Music, Prof. Nayak is also proficient in playing harmonium from childhood and accompanies stalwart vocalists and has also given performances in most of the prestigious music festivals in India.

In this quest for excellence in education Prof. Nayak is ably supported by his beloved wife, Mrs. Ushaprabha N. Nayak. A very resourceful person, she is equally responsible for the success of Expert Coaching Classes, where she not only takes up classes, but also coordinates the various activities of the institute.

Prof. Nayak now also enjoys the reputation as a successful author. He has been instrumental in designing the Refresher Course, published by Expert Publishing House. He has authored a Refresher Course in Mathematics. These books are widely accepted by the student community throughout the state and is well accepted as an essential book for securing top marks in board exams as well as exceling in other competitive examinations.

With his uniqueness in teaching methodologies, he has successfully trained many Lecturers/Professors on how to improve the Art of Teaching.
