He was addressing the students after inaugurating the ‘Edu - Path’ Lecture Series on options and opportunities in higher education after the pre university level. The programme was held in the Cultural Centre of the Expert Pre University College –Valachil, Mangaluru.
Through his brilliant discourse he enlightened the students about choosing the right professional life after the pre university education. He advised the students to march ahead in the chosen path and not to take any diversion at any point of time and alsocautioned them not to go after the marks but to be always on the right path, with right attitude which ensures the marks. At the end, there was an interactive session in which students threw a plethora of questions pertaining to various career choices and Mr.Ullas Kamath clarified those questions.
Exams are crucial part of education and the source of stress for many students. In order to combat crippling anxiety which impinge on the academic performance of students, a highly useful and motivational session on ‘ Handling Exam Stress’ was conducted by the noted Psychiatrist Dr. Supriya Hegde Aroor for the II PUC students of Expert Pre University College Valachil, Mangaluru. This Session was held as part of the on- going ‘EDU-PATH Lecture Series 2018’ in the Cultural Centre of the campus. Addressing the students, Dr. Supriya Hegde emphasized that stress is present in every individual’s life and a positive stress known as ‘Eustress’ is essential for everyone to achieve and progress in life. But the distress resulting out of anxiety, pressure of achieving academic goal, competition etc. needs to be addressed to and eased out. She explained the causes of stress and techniques to over come it.
Later, the students interacted with the guest speaker with numerous queries related to stress and its management.

The concluding episode of this series witnessed two brilliant sessions by renowned resource persons Dr. K.V. Gangadharan, Professor NITK Suratkal and Dr. Premananda Shenoy, Chief Consultant at ‘Roy and Shenoy’, Mangalore.
Conducting a brain storming session o n the topic ‘Engineering the Future and Mission and Admission into NIT’, Dr. K.V. Gangadharan stated that Engineers create a world that never existed before and civil engineering is the mother of all engineering branches. He presented a bird’s eye view of the engineering branches, scope and job opportunities all over India and abroad.
Prominent Cardiologist Dr. Mohan Pai inaugurated the EDU-PATh-2019-20, an extensive career guidance lecture series for the II PUC students of Expert Pre-University College, Kodialbail.
EDU-PATH focuses on imparting detailed and current information on the extensive options in higher education. This lecture series aims at guiding the students to make correct decisions while choosing their career.
In his address, Dr. Mohan Pai motivated the students to take up medicine as a profession and pointed out that our country is in dire need of good doctors. He backed his statement by citing many anecdotes and also provided factual data on the current medical scenario of the country. At the end, there was an interactive session in which students were illuminated with answers pertaining to the medical field by the resource person.
Dr. Premananda Shenoy addressing the students on the topic ‘Architecture and Civil Engineering’ lauded the role of Civil Engineer’s and Architets’ contribution in creating infrastructure and other amenities in the modern world. He urged the students to feel proud to be engineers.
The resource person was Dr. S.M. Shivaprakash, Professor, Karnataka Veterinary Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar.
Prof. Harish Bhat, Vice Principal, Ramakrishna Pre University College, Mangaluru held another session on “How to Prepare for JEE and CET”. He furnished extensive information to the AICE aspirants about the reputed institutions, various courses they offer in different streams and bright career prospects they open up. He reminded the students that there is a lot of hard work, sacrifice and efforts behind every success story. Even if one has not made a good beginning, one can start now and with hard work coupled with smart work can make a good ending.
Prof. Lalitha Mallya, HOD of biology, Expert Pre University College Kodialbail conducted a motivational and informative session ‘Beat the NEET’ as part of the on going ‘EDU-PATH Lecture Series 2018’, a unique career guidance programme. Addressing the students in the Cultural Centre of the campus she said, “Cracking the NEET is not an uphill battle if a student chooses to work hard with adequate planning. You ought to practice like you never won and perform like you never lost. Difficult roads always lead to beautiful destinations”. Prof. Mallya provided efficacious inputs to the students to prepare for the upcoming NEET.

It is aimed at providing elaborate and up to date information on full range of options in higher education, in order to develop their employability skills and to make right decisions in choosing a career. In his inspiring inaugural discourse he encouraged the students to take up medicinen as a profession and reiterated that the doctor’s profession is an art which requires ‘ashtagunas’ or eight principles such as mastery, ever-readiness, dedication, interest, compassion, intelligence, nick of time and energy in one’s life. He cautioned them that though medical profession is highly respected in society, it is not a bed of roses. At the end, there was an interactive session in which students threw a plethora of questions pertaining to medicine as a profession and received satisfactory answers from the guest speaker.
